How the consistency rule works
Many prop firms don't want one lucky day to pass an account. So they cap your best single day as a share of your total profit. With a 50% rule, your best day can be at most half of everything you've made.
The fix is never to lose money on purpose. It's to keep trading normal-sized days until your total catches up. And watch that no new day becomes your new best day and makes the gap bigger. That's what "Max next day" shows.
FAQ
What is the consistency rule at prop firms?
A limit on how big your single best trading day can be compared to your total profit. For example, with a 50% rule your best day must be no more than half your total profit.
How do I fix a consistency rule violation?
Keep trading until your total profit is large enough. Divide your best day by the rule percentage to get the total you need. Avoid having an even bigger day in the meantime, or the target moves up.
Do losing days count?
Total profit is your net profit, so losing days lower it and make the rule harder to meet. Your best day stays your best day until you beat it.
Is this financial advice?
No. It's a calculator. Consistency rules differ between firms and plans and change often, so always confirm with your firm.
